‘HAKH’ & ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ music composer Raam Laxman passes away

The music composer, Raam Laxman, known for super hit Bollywood soundtracks like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, has passed away. He was 78.

Laxman’s son, Amar confirmed the news to IndianExpress. He said, “My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that.”

Lata Mangeshkar, who worked closely with Laxman on various soundtracks, tweeted, “I just learned that the extremely talented and popular music composer Raam Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) has passed away. I am very sorry to hear this. He was a great man. I sang many of his songs which got very popular. I pay him my respects.”

Rajshri Productions also paid tribute to Laxman, “Music Composer Vijay Patil a.k.a Laxman of the iconic #RaamLaxman duo passed away. Our deepest condolences to his family in this tough time. Rajshri will always remember him for his immense contribution to the music industry. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
