‘Gulaal’ to replace ‘Bidaai’ this month on Star Plus

New daily drama ‘Gulaal’ has been named as the replacement for ‘Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai’, when it ends later this month on Star Plus.

Last month, it was revealed that the long running series ‘Bidaai’ was ending after channel officials decided to wind the show up on a high rather than moving it to an afternoon slot.

‘Gulaal’, produced by Sphere Origin, will have a tough act to follow as ‘Bidaai’ had recently completed 700 episodes and has been going strong for the past three years. ‘Gulaal’ is based in Gujarat and has a very unique concept about the old tradition of Diyar Vattu whereby the female protagonist marries the ten-year old brother of her husband after his sudden death. But there’s a twist as her late husband’s cousin brother has also clapped eyes on her.

‘Gulaal’s’ starcast consists of Rahil Azam, Mansi Parekh, Manoj Joshi and Aditi Tailang.

‘Gulaal’ launches on Monday 29th November at 21:00. This will mark the end to ‘Bidaai’ with a one-hour special on Sunday 28th November.
