Govinda not yet signed for ‘Partner’ sequel

With reports suggesting that actor-turned-producer Sohail Khan has registered two names for the ‘Partner’ (2007) sequel, it seems audiences are already excited to see Salman Khan and Govinda back on screen together. However, the latter has revealed he hasn’t even signed any papers yet.

“There is a lot of speculation but I haven’t been finalised for the sequel, I have to make that clear kyunki main jhoot nahi bolta (because I don’t lie),” Pune Mirror reports Govinda expressing.

Talking about how the first film changed his success, the actor explained, “When I quit politics 10 years ago, I found ‘Partner’ and neither the makers nor my fans have forgotten the film. I guess it’s because of the humour and the honesty which shines through.”

The two titles that have apparently been registered are ‘Carry on Partner’ and ‘Partner 2’. Govinda went on to say, “I never understood why we had to wait a decade for a Partner sequel, I guess I love the franchise a little too much.”

Finding success much later on in his career, the actor talked about how it was when he first started out. “I did not have the support of big banners then. I tried my hand at politics without much success. Even as a producer things didn’t work out and I got left behind in the race. I guess it was destiny,” he said,

Well having just finished shooting for Abhishek Dogra’s ‘Fry-yay’, and with a number of other projects lined up, it seems Govinda is finally getting the appreciation he deserves.
