Govind Shahi turns SVP for IndiaCast Americas

Govind Shahi, who heads IndiaCast operations in the UK, has been confirmed as Senior Vice President for IndiaCast Americas (including Caribbean and Canada) operations, BizAsia can reveal.

As well as heading operations of Colors, Rishtey and News18 India in the UK/Europe regions, Shahi has been given the extra responsibilities to control the overhead IndiaCast channels in Americas. IndiaCast USA business head, Sameer Goswami will now report to Shahi.

During his tenure at IndiaCast UK/Europe, Shahi took the business decision to turn premium pay channel, Colors into a free-to-air service – risking all revenues the company was making from its subscription model. Recently, Shahi was behind the launch of Rishtey on DTT (Freeview HD) – the first Asian channel to do so.

Prior to joining IndiaCast, Shahi had a brief stint with the Heath Media group as a co-promoter, prior to which he was the business head for ZEE�۪s Europe operations.

Shahi will report to Anuj Gandhi, Group CEO, IndiaCast.
