Government to push plans for junk food advertising before 9pm on TV

The UK government is set to announce plans to ban junk food advertising before the 21:00 watershed.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, will announce restrictions on unhealthy food advertising, next week. Details include banning online and TV advertising before 21:00, plus a further curb on in-store promotions.

It is believed the Prime Minister’s own experience of going through coronavirus, has made him determined to put changes into practise. He previously criticised sugar tax moves, branding it a “sin health tax”.
