Girish Kumar feels the pressure of being star child

Girish Kumar

Though his debut film ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ (2013) fared well at the box office, actor Girish Kumar wasn’t seen again much after, even when scripts were coming his way. Now the actor is back on track andis ready for his next release, and he’s also revealed all about his disappearance.

Catching up with the media, Kumar explained how it was the unexpected pressure he felt of being a star child, with his father Kumar Taurani being such a well establish producer. “I debuted with a good film which worked at the box-office but the industry did not welcome me. I had a nervous breakdown and constant meltdowns. It’s been an extremely tough, emotional journey,”Mumbai Mirror reported the actor stating.

Adding that people assumed it be easy as he would have his father pave the way for him, Kumar explained that him and other star kids like him want to make it on their own. He explained, “That’s not what any of us want and there are innumerable star sons who have not lived up to their father’s or family’s legacy. The pressure of living under the shadow of another person is insane.”

Kumar will next be seen in a romantic comedy opposite debut actress Navneet Kaur Dhillon, in Vaibhav Misra’s ‘Loveshhuda’. Talking about his co-star, the actor expressed, “Navneet’s not had any formal training in acting or dancing. We’ve become good buddies.”
