Girish Karnad passes away aged 81
Playwright, filmmaker and actor, Girish Karnad has passed away at the age of 81 on Monday.
Karnad passed away at his residence in Bengaluru, according to his family. He was born on 19th May 1938, and is known for iconic plays like ‘Yayati’, Hayavadana’ and ‘Tughlaq’, which were written in Kannada and then translated into English. He also worked in a number of Kannada and Hindi films.
