Gippy Grewal signed for ‘Lucknow Central’

Punjabi celebs seem to bagging some very important roles in mainstream Hindi cinema, of late. Singer, film actor and director; Gippy Grewal has been signed for producer Nikkil Advani�۪s upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Lucknow Central’, which also stars actors��Kriti Sanon and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles.

The��story of ‘Lucknow Central’ is set in the backdrop of a jail, where��some jail inmates form a band in prison to rekindle their passion for music. With one of the characters being that of a Punjabi musician, the director of the film was on the lookout for an actual musician to keep things real, and hence the “Desi Rockstar”, Grewal was finalised and signed.��The film is all set to go on floors in September this year.��Work wise, Sanon has recently wrapped up the shooting of ‘Raabta’, while Akhtar is gearing up for the release of ‘Rock On!! 2’.

Ranjit Tiwari, who has worked as assistant director to��Advani, will be making his��directorial debut with the film.
