Giaa Manek denies being approached for Colors show

Popular TV actress Giaa Manek has spoken exclusively to BizAsia to put rumours to rest about being approached by Colors for a new TV show.

It was reported on Times Of India’s website recently that Manek was set to star in a new daily, which will replace ‘Uttaran’ in the weekday 22:00 slot on Colors. This is not true. BizAsia can confirm that Colors is not in talks with Manek for the show. Manek said, “I would love to work with Colors as I have a good rapport with them since I did Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but I really have not been approached by the channel for any show in the past two months.”

It is rumoured that ‘Uttaran’ will soon be ending on Colors due to low viewing figures and a replacement show is yet to be decided. However, with Colors recently launching two new shows (BeIntehaa and Rangrasiya), the channel will give it sometime before it launches another new show hence an extension given to ‘Uttaran’.

Manek recently completed her contract with Sony SAB TV for ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ and is said to be enjoying her break but is open to interesting offers by any major channel. She told BizAsia, “After completing Jeanie Aur Juju, I wanted to take a break but now with the new year, I’m ready to go again with already some offers on the table but i’m yet to decide what I’ll take up next. I’d like to take on something interesting that even my fans will like to see me in. A daily show would be nice so let’s see.”
