“Getting good work is not a struggle” says Kangana Ranaut

Kangna Ranaut Queen

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been through a long journey from being a small-town girl to achieving the star tag in glamorous B-Town. Recently, the actress talked about her struggle in the industry and also revealed her former misconceptions about being a Bollywood star.

The 28-year-old asserted about the difference in struggles from the time of her entrance in the industry till her National Award win and told Mid-Day, “Today, for me getting good work is not a struggle. I have always been an outsider and that is not going to change. There was a time when getting work was a struggle, but not anymore. There are different levels of struggle, but not as intense as it was earlier for me.”

Discussing that being glamorous is not being a star the ‘Queen’ (2014) actress said, “I had seen 1970-80s film where artists were stars… They used to wear shades, nice clothes, look pretty and behave bratty, I thought that was being a star. I had a filmi perspective about actors as an outsider. I thought wearing good clothes, going on sets… Actors saying their lines, singing songs and fighting just happened on its own. I did not know the technical side of film-making.”

“It is not glamorous. It is not easy (being here). It is one of the biggest film industry, so lot of money goes into making films, using technology, getting actors, reaching out to audience… It is hard core business.” she added.

Though the actress does not consider herself at the top in her field still has been garnered a huge fan-following because of her appealing performances in projects like ‘Gangster’ (2006), ‘Fashion’ (2008), ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ (2010), ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ (2011) and many more.

Her next flick will be the sequel of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, in which she’ll be seen opposite Bollywood actor R. Madhavan. The movie is scheduled to release this Friday.
