Geo to launch new channel Tez in Pakistan

Geo TV has begun test transmissions in Pakistan for its new channel Geo Tez, which is expected to commence official broadcasting next month.

Geo Tez, which was previously known as Geo English was delayed on numerous occassions due to modifications to its licence. It has been reported that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) instead of accepting the application of name change to Geo Tez cancelled Geo English�۪s license.

Later Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored the license of Geo English and allowed the television channel�۪s management to change its name and medium of language in 2012.
