Gautam Gulati confirms he will play Ravi Shastri in ‘Azhar’

As reported by��BizAsia earlier this week, ‘Bigg Boss 8’ winner Gautam Gulati was being speculated to play the role of cricketer Ravi Shastri in Mohammad Azharuddin’s biopic. Gulati has now confirmed the news.

Speaking to��Absolute India, Gulati said, “Shastri has a lot of attitude. ��It can be clearly seen in the way he carries himself. ��Similarly, I too have attitude and arrogance so I guess they decided to cast me in his role.”

The actor claims to have another 15 offers to choose from but he will be “choosing only good scripts”.

The Ekta Kapoor production stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role as Mohammad Azharuddin. Gulati does not seem insecure with making his debut in a supporting role and is instead excited to be sharing screen space with Hashmi who he says he will get to learn a lot from.

‘Azhar’ also stars Prachi Desai and is being directed by Anthony D’Souza.
