Gauahar Khan: “Glad to not be slotted in a particular bracket”

Having starred in a number of different roles, it’s fair to say Gauahar Khan is moving up the career ladder faster than anyone had expected. Next to be seen playing a sex worker in Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Begum Jaan’, the actress seems to be enjoying the different roles coming her way.

“I’m so glad to not be slotted in a particular bracket; glad that I don’t follow norms. I hope that my credibility as an actor is established with ‘Begum Jaan’. This is a film that can set me in a good zone,” Deccan Chronicle reports Khan expressing.

She went on to add, “I have never craved for screen space — I want the audience to remember my character. And, I’m excited about ‘Begum Jaan’ because the film gives me this opportunity.”

Releasing on 14th April, ‘Begum Jaan’ also stars Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Chunky Pandey.
