Freida Pinto Bollywood debut delayed due to demands?

Freida Pinto signs first Bollywood film
Freida Pinto signs first Bollywood film

After Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008), actress Frida Pinto was expected to one day go the Bollywood way. When her film opposite Abhay Deol was shelved, it was only a matter of time when something new came her way. However, little do filmmakers know is that the actress would have film making demands of her own.

Director Navdeep Singh, apparently approached the actress for a film about a female detective. When Pinto heard the script she seemed happy to sign the dotted line, although she had a few unusual conditions. A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama,”Freida met Navdeep and Vikramaditya Motwane who was to produce the film starring her as a detective. She liked the script. But she had one pre-condition before signing the film. She wants Vikram Motwane to direct the project while Navdeep, thinks Freida, could be on board as a writer.”

Due to these demands the film has come to a halt, as Singh planned to write and direct the film. If Pinto doesn’t agree to Singidea film making ideas then, she maybe replaced, as the source goes into add, “The whole idea of Navdeep writing the film was to let him direct it so that the long break due to his aborted projects would be broken. He has been able to make only one film in six years. Vikram Motwane was only helping his friend Navdeep out. There’s no way he will step in as director. If Freida insists they will go to another actress. At the moment they’re trying to convince her.”

Looks like Pinto will need to take a back seat with what goes on behind the camera, if she wants to make her Bollywood break with this one.
