FreeSports acquires UK rights for inaugural Abu Dhabi T20

FreeSports has acquired the UK television rights to broadcast the inaugural Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy cricket.

The three-day tournament, which gets underway on Thursday, will be held in the Zayed Cricket Stadium and represented by a star-studded line up which will see some of the best teams from across the sub-continent, Australia, Africa and the UK gather for a one-of-a-kind international tournament.

The six teams competing are Boost Defenders of the Shpageeza Cricket League, Hobart Hurricanes of the Big Bash League, Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League, Titans of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge, Auckland Aces of the Super Smash and UK representatives Yorkshire Vikings of the T20 Blast.

The competition is made up of the above six teams split in to two groups and will be played over three days beginning Thursday, October 4. Each team will face their respective group opponents in a round-robin league with the top two meeting in the final at Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Coverage of the tournament kicks off at 13:00 where Auckland Aces face Boost Defenders followed by Yorkshire Vikings against Lahore Qalandars at 17:00.
