Singers Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika Singh and Himesh Reshammiya have been confirmed as the four coaches who will mentor contestants in the first edition of ‘The Voice India’.

Talking about his role in helping singers in the show, Shaan said, It does help a singer as these shows are all about grooming. It is like a beauty pageant. Contestants are taught how to walk, what to wear etc. It is the same with singers. Ultimately, it is left to them, but shows like these do guide contestants to become better.۝

Meanwhile, Chauhan confirmed the news to DNA India, “I am going to be myself. For me, what is exciting is that we have to choose the singer solely on the basis of their voices. We are blindfolded, so cannot see the singer and have to choose by touching his or her finger. This is completely new and one-of-its-kind format. Also, here I will be a mentor, which means I can help in grooming the singer.”

Karan Tacker is expected to host the reality show.

‘The Voice India’ will air on &TV this summer.
