Founder of one of UK’s longest Asian LGBTQ nights passes away

The founder of one of the UK’s longest running Asian LGBTQ’s nights, Perdes Simplay has passed away.

Simplay, known to the community as one of the pioneers in setting up the hugely popular ‘Saathi’ club night in Birmingham, died in Torquay on Sunday night. The cause of of his death has not been identified.

The ‘Saathi’ club-night was set-up in 2001 and has fast became one of the most popular South Asian gay nights in the UK.

It is not known if ‘Saathi’ will take place this month, which has been scheduled for 29th March 2019.
