Former Star UK boss Gurjeev Kapoor to step down as distribution head ahead of merger

Gurjeev Kapoor, the former head of Star UK’s operations and now Disney Star’s Head of Distribution and International Markets, will step down from his position ahead of the upcoming merger.

According to the Economic Times, Kapoor has opted to pursue entrepreneurial ventures rather than joining the new Viacom18/Disney Star entity.

Kapoor has led Disney Star’s TV distribution efforts across India and in over 109 countries, significantly expanding its reach across major regions, including the UK, Europe, the U.S., Middle East, Africa, and APAC.

The newly merged entity, JioStar, is anticipated to begin trading this week.
