Five radio shows compete for UK AMA gong

Five radio shows are competing for the ‘Best Radio Show’ gong at this year’s UK Asian Music Awards (UK AMAs).

Adil Ray’s ‘Drivetime’ show on the BBC Asian Network, Ameet Chana’s ‘Breakdown’ also on the BBC Asian Network, Neev’s daily show on Kiss FM, Punjabi Hit Squad’s stint on BBC 1xtra and Suzi Mann’s weekly ‘Bollywood Top 20’ on Sunrise Radio are vying for the title.

In other media nominations, five websites are fighting amongst themselves to win the award for the ‘Best Website’. Desidesi.com, Desihits.com, Dholaholic.com, Nachnach.com and Simplybhangra.com are the shortlisted sites.

The full twelve categories were announced today by the organisers UK AMA and Nashi Media Group. The event takes place on Thursday 6th March.

Voting via the website has now re-opened and readers can vote to help select the winners for each category fromthe list of final nominees. Voting will close at midday on Monday 18th February and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in March at the spectacular Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London.
