First look: Official posters of Himmatwala۪

Sajid Khan is back with his next mad comic caper Himmatwala۪ after a series of back to back blockbusters Heyy Babyy۪ (2007), Housefull۪ (2010) and Housefull 2۪ (2012). Himmatwala۪ is a remake of the Jeetendra-Sridevi classic of the same name which released way back in 1983 and shot Sridevi to stardom. Khan has acquired the rights to re-use the film’schartbusting track Nainon Mein Sapna۪ too which is still remembered and somehow hasn۪t lost its freshness even all these years on.

The remake stars Ajay Devgn and Telugu star Tamannaah in the role immortalised by Sridevi. Paresh Rawal, Prakash Raj and Bruna Abdullah make up the rest of the cast and Jeetendra and Akshay Kumar will both be seen in cameos in the film.

“I’m excited to present this remake of a well remembered and iconic film to a new generation that will surely enjoy it. The new release is again stunt and action packed in no doubt a true homage to my father۪s style of filmmaking. I’ll be shooting in Malaysia in the coming weeks with tigers for the movie,۝ said Devgn.

Whether Khan۪s remake repeats the success of his earlier films remains to be seen, but going by the posters in which he claims the film is a ‘blockbuster,’ he seems pretty sure of its outcome.

The film will release end of March next year and apparently clash with Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani۪ (starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone) and Lootera۪ (which stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha).
