First customisable site for Asians launches

Indianelement.com has recently launched the first customisable start page for South Asians that allows users to fully personalise their entire favourite web content onto a single page. The brainchild of 29-year-old entrepreneur Deepak Gandhi, Indianelement is free, easy to use and convenient, and is also the only start page that offers South Asian content alongside mainstream content.

The customisable start page is quickly becoming an efficient and popular way of organising and personalising the internet, and with so many portals like MSN, Netvibes, Yahoo and Google on offer, Indianelement is the only one specifically for the ethnic demographic. Users can easily build their start page by selecting from over 500 ‘widgets’ – for local national and international news, sports, Asian events, ringtones,Bollywood, a calendar (that lists local and Indian holidays), Flickr, YouTube, London tube updates, etc – and simply drag and drop their preferred widgets onto their start page.

Deepak Gandhi, Founder and CEO, says: “I created Indianelement so users can access their favourite pages by just clicking onto one site, instead of spending valuable time trawling through the internet. Indianelement fills a void that was left by other major portals, which are either too western or too ethnic and as an Asian living overseas, I couldn’t relate to either, which is why I developed this start page.”
