Anamika Majumdar, from Jamshedpur, has created history by becoming the first contestant to win Rs 1 crore on the latest season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati.’

She was so passionate about winning the show that she even qualified for the Rs 7 crore question but rather than risking herself, she decided to settle for Rs 1 crore and leave the show, reports Bollywood Life. The ninth season of the show has been running for around a month and no contestant was close to winning until now.

Majumdar is married with two kids. As a social worker by profession, she also runs an NGO called ‘Faith In India – Female Aura Initiated Towards Hope’ from Jamshedpur. After winning the prize money, Majumdar said that she will invest the amount in her NGO that works for rural areas of Jharkhand.

Also from the episode, world badminton champion PV Sindhu shot a segment with host Amitabh Bachchan. Sindhu gifted Bachchan a racket and also treated him with some Hyderabadi biryani.
