Fire TV Stick crackdown targets illegal streaming in the UK
A major crackdown on illegal streaming devices, such as modified Fire TV Sticks, has been conducted across the UK by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) in collaboration with local police forces.
Over 30 suppliers were targeted in a two-week operation aimed at curbing the distribution of these devices, commonly used for accessing pirated sports and movie content.
The individuals involved were visited at their locations nationwide and issued cease-and-desist notices. These notices demand an immediate halt to their illicit activities, with a warning that failure to comply could result in criminal prosecution.
FACT reiterated its stance against illegal streaming services, cautioning that those who engage in such activities face “serious consequences.” The organisation continues to emphasise the risks, both legal and financial, associated with accessing or supplying pirated content.

FACT’s CEO, Kieron Sharp, said: “Our cease-and-desist measures are not just warnings—they are the first step toward holding offenders accountable.
“Many who ignored these notices in the past are now facing arrest and criminal charges. We strongly advise anyone involved in these activities to stop immediately.
“If you’re supplying or using illicit streaming devices or illegal IPTV subscriptions, take this as a clear warning: you are breaking the law and risk facing serious consequences.”
