Fire at Deepika Padukone’s block prevents her from going home

When news broke out that Deepika Padukone’s flat had come ablaze there was much concern over the actress’ safety. However, she was prompt to put everyone’s minds at rest when she took to social media and expressed she was safe. However, the same could not be said for her block of flats, and she has been told she won’t be able to go back for a while.

According to Pinkvilla, the fire had broken out on the floor below Padukone’s. Despite all the efforts made by the fire services, they have informed the actress it will be another 10-15 days before it’s safe for her to return home. Fire officer P Rahangdale was reported stating, “Once our fire tenders were withdrawn from the spot, we had no role to play. BEST has to restore electricity and decide along with the housing society when its residents can start living in their flats. We are investigating the cause of fire and the place where the fire first broke.”

Padukone owns two of the flats that reside on the 24th floor on the B wing of Beaumonde Towers in Mumbai. It has been said the actress was shooting for a brand at the time of the fire.
