Financial losses for Salman Khan’s ‘Mental’?

Money troubles for 'Mental'?
Money troubles for 'Mental'?

It seems Salman Khan is fast turning into the king of controversy. His next movie, ‘Mental’, seems be hitting the headlines repeatedly and that too for all the wrong reasons. The latest suggests that the film has lost a monstrous 25 crores in its first 12 days of schedule.

Southern workers abandoned the project after they learnt that their opposite numbers in B-town were earning more than them. According toBusiness of Cinema, a source revealed, “The duo (Salman and Sohail) had no option but to take help from senior people within the fraternity. The big set in Lavasa has not been dismantled yet. Every single day since the south action artistes left, the makers have been incurring losses to the tune of Rs 20 lakh. The losses are only going to mount with no solution in sight”.

Sohail has filed a complaint with theAssociation of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP). The crew have made their way back to Mumbai as the schedule has stalled for the time being. Another insider close to the project commented, “The unit had to return within a week even though it was a 15-day schedule in Kolhapur because the fighters refused to shoot. There was another schedule in Lavasa, which was a continuity sequence from a Dubai shoot that needed the same fighters. There too, the Film Employees۪ Federation of South India (FEFSI) refused to send their stuntmen”.

The film also stars Daisy Shah, Sana Khan and also Tabu in a supporting role.
