Filmy to launch new reality TV show

Sahara One’s movies channel Filmy will be launching its first reality show called ‘Bathroom Singer’.

The programme goes live next month and runs for five months. Unlike other musical reality shows, ‘Bathroom Singer’ looks for an untrained singer who has the opportunity to gain fame and pocket Rs 25 lakh in the process by combining his/her singing talent with an entertainment quotient.

Speaking on the initiative, Shailesh Kapoor, Content and Marketing Head, Filmy, said, “The show is a search for a performer who can entertain the nation. We are not looking for a classically trained singer or a youth icon, but a star of the masses.”

While Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishen will judge the entertainment quotient among the participants, singer Shibani Kashyap will focus on the singing talent of the participants. TV actor Gaurav Gera will host the show as also pose as the participants�۪ friend-philosopher-guide. A 50:50 combination of the jury and viewer voting will then decide the winner, who will take home Rs 25 lakh.

Ground auditions taking place in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai will commence on Tuesday 24th July.

Filmy recently launched on Sky Digital and is a part of the MAX Mix, along with channels Sahara One and SET MAX.
