Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat passes away at 50
Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat has passed away after a battle with Chronic Liver Disease. He was 50.
Kamat, known for superhit projects like ‘Drishyam’ (2015) and ‘Madaari’ (2016), had been hospitalised a few weeks ago. At the end of July, he was admitted to AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli with jaundice and abdominal distention.
Earlier today, media outlets broke the news about Kamat’s “death” but were later forced to retract their stories when it was denied. However, a few hours later, the news has been confirmed.
A number of Bollywood stars have expressed their grief at the loss of such a prominent filmmaker.
