Filmmaker Jasmine D’Souza sticks up for Sunny Leone

Despite securing her Bollywood career with over 10 films already, Sunny Leone is still getting flak for her past career choice of being a part of the adult film industry. However there are a few who are backing her corner, including filmmaker Jasmine D’Souza who is responsible for casting the actress in their next venture, ‘One Night Stand’.

“I don�۪t think it�۪s fair to judge someone because of the past. Sunny comes from the adult film industry but that doesn�۪t make her any less of a human than us. It�۪s our work that defines who we are. If I would have taken Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone, then no one would have asked why I chose them for my film. There�۪s so much hypocrisy within the industry,”��Deccan Chronicle��reported the director stating.

Apparently, Leone gave D’Souza the nod for the film straight away, “Before we started working on the project I had bounced off the idea to Sunny and she agreed to come on board immediately. So the role was written keeping her in mind,” she explained.

Talking about how the actress performed in her role, D’Souza explained, “There were situations where Sunny wasn�۪t looking at a particular scene the way I was looking at it. So we would have discussions on the sets and once she was convinced, she would shoot them the way I envisioned it.”

As well as D’Souza, the film’s producer��Furquan Khan was also all in praise for Leone. “I am very happy with the product. I don�۪t know what people think of Sunny Leone but let me tell you that she is very professional and an extremely�� hardworking actor. We finished the film in 55 days. It was shot in Bangkok, Mumbai and Pune,” he expressed.
