Film board plans to hold counsel sessions for celebrities

With the shock of a number celebrities taking their own life over the years, news has it that the actors and actresses of the Indian film industry will have the option to have counseling sessions for any troubles that they are going through.

According to��NDTV, the��Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) have taken up the responsibility to organise these sessions for celebrities. “Starting from April 17, we will have seven counselling sessions with all the actors. We really want to know the root cause of suicide and eradicate it,” Amit Behl, chairperson dispute committee, CINTAA, was reported stating.

He went on to explain, “Of course, it doesn’t guarantee anything, but we all will sit as family members and discuss our own highs and lows.”

The idea has come to light ��after actress��Pratyusha Banerjee had committed suicide by hanging herself. Behl explained, “Pratyusha was such a young girl and my concern is that as an actor, they need to understand highs and lows are part of this industry. So we have collectively taken this decision and have come forward to speak about it.”
