Fifth Islamic channel set for UK launch

A new Islamic religious channel is gearing up for its launch on Sky Digital later this year.

Known as Noor TV, the new service will broadcast Islamic educational programmes on the Quran (Islamic holy book).

Noor TV is planning for a September launch to coincide with the month of Ramadhan, which begins on 23/24th September.

Noor TV will join a string of other Islamic channels already available on the Sky Digital platform, namely, MTA-Muslim TV (787), Islam Channel (813) and QTV (820). DM Digital announced yesterday that it too is in advanced stages of launching its Islamic channel DM Islam TV in July. This will bring the total number of Muslim religious channels to five by September.
