Fever FM proposes to increase religious output

Community radio station, Fever FM, based in Leeds, has requested Ofcom to re-look at its station format, to include extra religious output during festivals and bigger occasions in the Asian calendar.

Fever FM’s core output will remain the same, with just an increase of religious programming couple of times a year. The change requested by the station says, “During religious and cultural periods/dates, the musical output may change to spiritual and relevant tracks only.” It added, “During times of religious cultural celebration, the speech output may be restricted to religious and cultural programming only.”

Community radio stations like Fever FM, have strict guidelines to adhere to, to ensure they provide services as listed in their “Key Commitments”. Previously, community radio stations have landed in hot water with Ofcom for broadcasting material not approved in their formats.

Anyone who wishes to express their comments about the format change, can do so here before 13th April 2018.
