Fatima Sana Shaikh to replace Taapsee Pannu in ‘Life In A Metro’ sequel?

Director Anurag Basu who will be making a sequel to ‘Life In A Metro’ (2007), is currently deciding on his line-up for the next instalment, has apparently replaced Taapsee Pannu with Fatima Sana Shaikh in what is believed to be a pivotal role in the film.

According to Deccan Chronicle, reports suggest Basu has taken this decision due to Pannu’s unavailability for the dates required, due to her busy schedule blocked out for her forthcoming films, such as ‘Badla’, ‘Womaniya’ and ‘Tadka’ and doesn’t have the capacity to do another film.

Shaikh who is gearing up for her next release in Yash Raj Films’ extravagant ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, is said to be finalised for this role. A source shared, “Dates were a major conflict and that is the reason why Anurag Basu had to look out for different option for the lead. And lucky for him, he had already spoken to Fatima in the past. So, when dates did become an issue, it was an easy fix for him this time around.”

The names of other actors who have cropped up for being approached for the sequel are the likes of, Rajkummar Rao, Parineeti Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha and Ishaan Khatter. We shall have to wait and see who Basu will cast.

The sequel is set to go on floors by the end of the year.
