Fatima Sana Shaikh: “Aamir Khan doesn’t push for anybody”

There has been some speculation that Aamir Khan wanted to cast Fatima Sana Shaikh as his heroine in ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, but the ‘Dangal’ (2016) actress says he wouldn’t “push anybody for a film”.

Shaikh who is baffled by the rumours, said in a phone interview with IANS that Khan is a professional at all times and wouldn’t get involved with matters like these. “He is not that kind of a person… He doesn’t push for anybody. He doesn’t get involved in all of this. He is a director’s actor and remains focused. That’s how I know him, and that’s how I see him. I don’t know where all this is coming from.”

Amitabh Bachchan will also be in the film, and not only will it be the first time him sharing screen space with Khan, it will also be Shaikh’s too, who is ecstatic. “Amitabh sir is a legend. He had sent me a letter and bouquet after ‘Dangal’ and I never thought I will get to do a film with him. I am very happy.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Shaikh was asked how she feels to be working with two perfectionists, to which she replied, “Actually, Adi sir is very sweet. He is a great producer, very sensitive and compassionate. Even the director Vijay Krishna Acharya (of ‘Dhoom’ fame) is very good…”I have seen his films, he really enjoys the process of filming, understands you and gets the best out of you. I feel fortunate to be working with such creative and intelligent people.”
