Faryal Makhdoom considering ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

Boxer Amir Khan’s wife, Faryal Makhdoom has once again opened up about her marriage and admitted she was considering taking part in the Channel 5 reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Makhdoom thought her marriage would be a “fairytale”. She said, “In my head, living with my new husband was going to be this fairytale, but it was hard and I didn’t have any friends.”

Makhdoom and Khan have been embroiled in controversy for a number of months over a war of words with Khan’s family. It all kicked off with a series of messages on Snapchat and other social medias. She said, “When you force your son to divorce his wife, When she’s nine months pregnant!!! And your son doesn’t … and he sticks besides his wife. He’s called a p***y!??? Ok, I’m guessing Islam teaches us to get married and divorce our wives and treat them bad???”

For a couple of months, things have been calm but are expected to hit the fan again with reports that Makhdoom is considering signing up to ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. Only a few weeks ago, Makhdoom turned to Snapchat to ask her well-wishers “advice” on what to do. “Hey guys, I got asked to be on Celebrity Big Brother… It’s a very tricky one and idk [sic] if I can do it…I want my followers [sic] advice. On my last Instagram post, tell me whether I should or shouldn’t? I want you guys to pick…”

In the interview with Daily Mail, Makhdoom added, “I want to see more British Pakistani Muslim women speaking up for themselves, getting out there and doing something. Then, eventually, the stereotype – this idea of what a daughter-in-law should be – will die off.”
