Farida Jalal: “I am hale & hearty”

Veteran actress, Farida Jalal was the latest victim of an Internet death hoax on Sunday night.

After the likes of Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, who have regularly been “killed off” by the growing fad of “fake news” on the Internet, it was the turn of Jalal. Social networking sites went into turmoil when the news emerged of Jalal’s “death”. However, Jalal seems to be fit and healthy and spoke to a publication about the malicious rumours.

She was cited in PinkVilla saying, “I am hale and hearty. I don’t know from where these baseless rumours are coming from. Initially I laughed, but from last 30 mins my phone have been constantly ringing and everybody is asking the same question. It’s a bit irritating, I wonder why people spread such rumours.”
