Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lucknow Central’ to release earlier than planned?

With rumours aplenty surrounding the narrative of ‘Lucknow Central’ being similar to Yash Raj Films’ ‘Qaidi Band’, it seems the release date of the former’s film is set for a change.

The two films are rumoured to be based on a group of prisoners, who form a musical band and escape prison. With ‘Qaidi Band’ due out 25th August, ‘Lucknow Central’ is releasing a month after, which could prove detrimental in its business. This could be the reason why the makers of ‘Lucknow Central’ are planning to release their film before ‘Qaidi Band’.

A source told DNA India, “Farhan’s film was written, shot and the release was planned months ago. Qaidi Band jumped into the scene all of a sudden, and was completed in record time. It’s almost as if the quickie was planned to pre-empt Lucknow Central and steal its thunder.”
