Before acting, Farhan Akhtar began his career in films behind the camera and as the years have gone by he has managed to prove himself in many other aspects of filmmaking. However it seems that Akhtar wants to go back to where he started from very soon.
“The urge to don the director۪s hat has begun to grow, but I have three film commitments right now. And, I have categorically told myself not to think of anything beyond them,” Hindstan Timesreported Akhtar stating.
When asked if he has been looking at an scripts for his potential directorial, the filmmaker went onto say, “We all have scripts that stay with us for years together, like Zoya۪s (Akhtar; sister, film-maker) ‘Luck By Chance’ (2009) was in preproduction for seven years. In my case, I wrote the script of ‘Voice Of The Sky’ right after ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001) .”
It had been rumoured earlier that Akhtar was re-writing a script that film maker Dev Benegal approached him with. “No, it۪s a great script. I loved it. It is very unfortunate that it didn۪t happen at the time when we wanted it to. Hopefully, it will work out. In fact, I told Dev about two-and-a-half weeks ago, before he left for New York, that we should meet again, as it is a great script. The film will happen if the timing is right.”
