Farhan Akhtar turns down role in own production?

Farhan Akhtar is set to produce his next production which will be a biopic based on the life of Olympian Indian hockey player Balbir Singh. Apparently Akhtar had turned down a role in the film that though isn’t the lead, is pivotal to the story.

As Deccan Chronicle reports, Akshay Kumar has been signed to play the lead, however Akthar has decided to only take up the producing chair for this one. “Farhan has played a lead in a biopic once before (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) and he wouldn’t want to step away from the protagonist’s role for this film. It could also be the fact that he is producing the film under his Excel Entertainment banner,” a source revealed.

To be directed by Reema Kagti, the role in question has now been offered to Saqib Saleem.
