Farhan Akhtar signs up to play underworld don Dawood Ibrahim

Farhan Akhtar has signed up to step into the shoes of underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim, for Ashim Ahluwalia’s ‘Daddy’. The director, who made his debut with ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001), will essay a cameo in the project based on the life of gangster Arun Gawali.

Reports suggest that the 42-year-old filmmaker shot his portions in a day-long shoot in a Khar bungalow in June.

According to��SpotboyE, a��source from the production unit confirmed, ���The makers were keen on Farhan for the role. He will shoot for one more day sometime this month and has filmed several sequences including one with television actress Shruti Bapna who plays an escort in the film. He sports Dawood’s signature moustache too.�۝

The movie will also witness the reunion of Akhtar with Arjun Rampal, who essays the role of Gawli in the film, for the third time after Rock On!! (2008) and its upcoming sequel directed by Shujaat Saudagar.

Rampal, who wrapped up��the shoot of the film yesterday took to Instagram to mark the occasion by posting a picture of the crew and thankeing everyone for the experience.
