Farhan Akhtar rubbishes reports of directing ‘Don 3’

Over the weekend, Farhan Akhtar rubbished reports that he will be playing a cop as well as directing ‘Don 3.’ The star had previously hinted at working on the scripts of the third installment of his famous franchise.
Taking to social media, Akhtar wrote, “Request those who conjure up news about #Don3 without any fact checking to please refrain. It is not fair to raise expectations of the films fanbase via false news.”
Akhtar and his friend Ritesh Sidhwani’s production house acquire the rights of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer ‘Don’ (1978). The production house then made two successful films both starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, with Akhtar as director, reports the Mumbai Mirror.
Speaking  earlier, Sidhwani confirmed that the ‘Don 3’ script is under work. He said, “We are definitely going to make Don 3. Earlier if you had asked me, I would have said no but now we do have an idea and we are working towards it. Shah Rukh will obviously be a part of the film, but we’ll zero down on the rest of the cast after the script is locked.”
