It was few months ago that Farhan Akhtar confirmed that he would be joining hands with Ajay Devgn for the Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’ (2014). Now, buzz suggests that Akhtar has opted out of the film.

The project is being produced by Devgn and Sanjay Dutt was roped into play a gangster, while Akhtar was to play a budding filmmaker. A source revealed, according to Pune Mirror, “The deal with Farhan did not work out due to several logistical differences between the actor and the filmmakers. The team is now looking for another actor to step into the role of a struggling filmmaker who sets out to make a documentary on a ruthless gangster”.

It seems the project has now been paused indefinitely until Akhtar is replaced.
