Farhan Akhtar joins Akshay Kumar for ‘Gold’?

As previously reported by BizAsiaLive.com, Akshay Kumar will be seen in Reema Kagti’s upcoming sports film ‘Gold’. The latest is that Farhan Akhtar, who is one of the producers on the film, may also star in the film as an actor.

DNA quote a source saying, “While Sunny Kaushal has been finalised as one of the players, Reema is very keen that Farhan Akhtar plays another member. It will be a special appearance as Akshay has the meatiest role being the striker, captain and later coach, but the film is being produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan and Reema has asked the latter’s sister Zoya to persuade him. Farhan has heard the story and his role and thinking about it. He is currently shooting for Lucknow Central and can only shoot for Gold in April so they are still working out the dates.”

Set in 1948, the film will tell the story of India’s first Olympic medal.

‘Gold’ is scheduled for an Independence Day release on 15th August 2018.
