Farhan Akhtar encouraged Priyanka Chopra to sing professionally

Last month,��BizAsia��had reported that actors Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra would be lending their voices for a duet in their upcoming film, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. ��Akhtar confirms this news and also says he was the one to urge Chopra to take up singing professionally years ago.

Speaking to��Hindustan Times, Akhtar said, “I remember, around ‘Don 2’ (2006), I had heard her singing… I told her to sing professionally… I urged her to perform live, and now, she’s doing that too… It’s nice that we got to do a song together. ��She’s a great singer.”

While Akhtar has previously worked with Chopra in films he has directed, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ will be the first time the duo come together as actors, and now also as singers.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. ��It is set to release on 5th June.
