Co-produced by both Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ was one of 2011’s biggest hits. The film did particularly better than its rivals at the recent International Indian Film Academy awards in Singapore. Akhtar has spoke out, rejecting that there is a need for a second instalment for the film.

As reported by ZEE News, Akhtar – upon his return from Singapore – very frankly said, “It’s not like it’s necessary to make a sequel, we’ll see later”. He wore many hats for the movie including actor and dialogue writer.

Akhtar co-hosted the IIFA awards ceremony with Shahid Kapoor and is said to be ecstatic at the awards received by the film. He commented, “We got quite a few awards, a lot of technical awards, Zoya won best director, we got best film, best story, best screenplay. So it feels great and it was a lot of fun hosting the awards. So all in all a good fun trip”.

Akhtar’s next production is Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor-Rani Mukherji starrer ‘Talaash’ which is looking at a November release.
