Farah Khan teaches Jackie Chan to dance

Farah Khan

She may be an established filmmaker, but Farah Khan hasn’t left her choreography career behind. With her current project ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ which stars Jackie Chan underway, Khan had some very interesting things to say about the superstar.

Talking about when she was first approached to work on the choreography for the film,NDTV reported her saying, “They had me at Jackie.”

Talking about working with Chan, Khan went on to explain, “It was fantastic. He is 60-year-old but behaved like a newcomer on the sets. He was there at 6.30 am. We are not used to people reporting on time. He threw a lavish party for us last night and I am looking forward to the schedule in Beijing.”

Talking about the director Stanley Tong, it’s fair to say Khan was given a very unusual brief. “Tong is also a wonderful guy. His brief was that they wanted a huge, happy Bollywood number. I asked them about the lyrics but he said, ‘Don’t worry about the lyrics. Just make them dance,’ ” she expressed.

Even if the choreographer was given the lyrics, she wouldn’t have been able to understand them without some help anyway, as they are all in Chinese. However, Khan seems to be connecting with Chan on humour and she has high hopes for working with the actor again. “We both love a good laugh. Let’s see. Maybe, he will say yes to a cameo in one of my films. Or at least, choreograph one of the film’s action sequences,” she explained.

The film will also star Sonu Sood and is set to release in 2017.
