Choreographer turned director Farah Khan, who has choreographed some iconic songs in showbiz, now plans to take her creative expertise a step further.Khan has joined hands with Shashi Ranjan۪s ITA (Indian Television Academy) School of Performing Arts to design a one-of-a-kind choreography course in India.

The course named ‘Farah Khan Choreography Course’ (FKCC) is a 12-week program thatwill be available in ITA School centres at Mumbai, Jaipur and Indore currently, and later extended to other cities across the country. This course is unique, with the syllabus and workshops being designed by Khan herself.ʉWe have sat down and formed 12 weeks۪ course which will literally teach you how to edit a song, how to use costumes, lenses, camera to going on the location to figuring out how to choreograph a song. So from practical knowledge to theory, everything will be covered,۝ Khan said, according to Bollywood Hungama.

She further added,”I’ve been choreographing for films for the last 25 years and though starting only dance classes has never excited me, the idea of compiling and developing a choreography course was thrilling. It was great to get an institution like ITA School, with its reputation and reach to support and partner in on this endeavour. The FKCC is a first-of-its-kind in India and will literally teach students how to conceive, choreograph and shoot a film song because “anybody can dance, but not everyone can choreograph!”

Excited about their new venture, Ranjan opined that theassociation with Khan would usher in a new era of learning at the schools, & that her vast experience and multifarious accomplishments would impart cutting-edge grooming to trainees.

Khan is known for her big budget, star-studded films like ‘Main Hoon Na’ (2004), ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007), ‘Tees Maar Khan'(2010) and ‘Happy New Year’ (2014). Reportedly, her next directorial venture will be a woman-centric film that is not star-driven.
