Farah Khan accused of hurting Hindi sentiments over Holi remark

Farah Khan is facing allegations of offending Hindu sentiments following remarks she made about Holi to Vikash Fhatak, also known as Hindustan Bhau.

The filmmaker, who is currently hosting ‘MasterChef India’, is reportedly facing a lawsuit after Fhatak filed a complaint, claiming that her comments hurt religious sentiments. According to reports, Farah Khan referred to Holi, the festival of colours, as the “festival of chapris” in a conversation with Fhatak.

Fhatak’s lawyer, Advocate Ali Kashaf Khan Deshmukh, stated that using the term “chapris” to describe a sacred festival is highly inappropriate and could potentially incite communal tensions. “The use of such language in reference to a sacred occasion is highly disrespectful,” the lawyer told NDTV.

As per the reports, the case against Khan has been filed under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 196, 299, 302, and 353. Farah Khan’s legal team has yet to issue a response.
