Fans outrage in support of Ranveer-Arjun’s ‘AIB Knockout’

AIB Knockout Ranveer Arjun

Earlier today, the comic roast episode featuring Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor came under the scanner. Named ‘AIB Knockout’, created by collective All India Bakchod (AIB), the episode very much went viral. However, an Education Minister suggested a probe which would investigate the obscenity in the episode.

A tweet by AIB read, “News sources have informed us that the AIB Knockout will be subject to some manner of official enquiry. At this point, we have no further details, but when we do, we۪ll keep you in the loop”. It was following a statement on television made by Vinod Tawde, Education Minister of Maharastra, saying that the language used would need to be looked into that the tweet was sent. Fans on micro-blogging site Twitter immediately started showing their outrage towards what Tawde had said and their support for their favourite stars by creating the hashtag #IStandByRanJun.

Interestingly, a while later, after seeing the effect his comments had had on the people, the Minister tweeted, “On #AIBRoast, will only enquire if the AIB had taken appropriate certificate. No moral policing if they r [sic] allowed by law, I can۪t stop them”.

By tradition, such comic roasts are known for their insults and to have the language investigated would have taken away from the whole appeal of such an event.
