‘Fanaa’ leads festive programming on Sony TV

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has lined up a blockbuster mix of programming to coincide with the festivities throughout December.

To mark the joyous occasion, Sony is celebrating with its campaign titled ‘Twelve Days Of Christmas’, which will see a mixture of top movies and events scheduled to entice viewers.

The channel will be telecasting the world television premiere of this year’s huge box office hit ‘Fanaa’ starring Aamir Khan and Kajol. The film marked actress Kajol’s comeback to the film industry after her marriage to actor Ajay Devgan. ‘Fanaa’ will be shown on Sunday 24th December (Christmas Eve) at 20:00.

After its premiere on sister channel MAX last month, the Akshay Kumar and Bipasha Basu starer ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ will be shown on flagship channel Sony on Sunday 10th December at 20:00.

Sony will also be axing its drama ‘Ek Ladki Anjani Si’ which launched earlier this year to much fanfare. The drama has not done as the channel had expected it, even though it was a Hindi adaptation of the popular Spanish show ‘Juana La Virgen’. Replacing this will be a new family drama called ‘Kuluvuddu’, which begins on Tuesday 26th December at 20:30.

On sister station MAX, the channel has lined up the movie premiere of Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan’s recent release ‘Ahista Ahista’. The film will be shown on Saturday 9th December at 21:00.

With ‘Bigg Boss’ holding steady in the ratings, drama ‘Kajjal’ opening up to a good response, Sony is in revamp mode. The channel has removed its movies from Saturday nights, relying now on an hour long masala special of ‘Bigg Boss’. The episode shows the best bits۪ from the Bigg Boss۪ house from the week not shown anywhere before.

Sony will also be launching a new Bollywood chat show titled ‘Ek Kup Zindagi’, which begins in January.
