Social media giants, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter face being blocked in India if they fail to comply by comprehensive guidelines issued by central government in the country.
The new rules, which come into effect on 26th May 2021, has only seen Koo reportedly adhere to the new rules. The other three are yet to agree. ZEE News reports that the media outlets are seeking more time of up to six months.
Currently, the set-up permits the three social media giants to earn profits in India but await orders from the US for any grievance redressal.
